The LSU Lions Eye Center consisted of an interior renovation, an addition of a classroom laboratory and an HVAC system replacement. On the first floor Gootee removed six air handling units, and replaced them with four chilled water and hot water constant volume units, to supply air conditioning to newly renovated spaces. The sixth floor underwent complete renovation, right down to the studs. We replaced two air handling units with new chilled water variable air volume units. We also installed several new bathrooms. The sixth and seventh floors required substantial medical gas work. As a teaching facility for tomorrow’s future doctors and nurses, the facility was set up like any other medical floor. On the seventh floor, we built a new lab complete with workstations, darkrooms, emergency showers and more.
